Don't Starve Animals (Beefalo and Bees)

Don't Starve has a vast variety of animals such as the very useful Beefalo. Beefalo have four types adult, teen, toddler, and baby. Adult Beefalo have 500 health and 34 damage and teen, toddlers, and babies have 300 health and cannot attack. They can be found in the dry grass lands. Beefalo are relatively harmless until one is attacked than all nearby Beefalo will also become hostile. It is key to keep in mind that the nearby newly hostile Beefalo will lose interest faster than the one that was attacked. When one is killed they drop three wool, four meat, and if your lucky a horn. They can also be shaved with a razor to obtain wool while they sleep which will grow back in a few days. They will drop wool regardless of being shaved or not. Their herds will regenerate off screen during mating season but until then you could kill a whole herd off. A baby Beefalo will stay near their parent at all times unless the parent is killed than it will always walk back to the location it died. Baby Beefalo will also always run away from the player when approached. The only time to be careful of a herd is when its mating season. During mating season their backs turn red and instead if being startled when walked past they become angry and attack the player. Wearing a Beefalo hat will help protect the player from the herd when in heat.

Bees are another type of animal in Don't Starve. Two kinds of bees are in the game which are normal bees and killer bees. They both have 100 health and 10 damage. Killer bees have the job of protecting the hive so they are always hostile to whatever is around them while normal bees are not always hostile. When killed both types of bees either drop 1 honey or stinger. Bees normally travel only from their hive to nearby flowers during the daytime only. All bees nearby will become hostile if one is attacked or trapped. Normal bees will ignore all attacks on their hive, but if you attack their hive killer bees will come. A beekeeper hat can be worn to reduce the damage taken from bees.

Don't Starve characters (Wilson and Willow)

Don't Starve has 8 playable characters not including expansion packs. The starting character is Wilson who is scientist. Wilson has both 150 health and hunger along with 200 sanity. He has the ability to grow a beard which is useful for surviving the winter. In four days he grows a short beard, 7 days for a long beard, and 15 days to grow a magnificent beard. Depending on the beard length it can provide up to 135 insulation against freezing. His beard can also be shaved for beard hair which allows the player to easily make a meat effigy and it restores 10 sanity. The beard makes him one of the best characters to survive winter with due to the fact it only takes 15 days to grow a magnificent beard and winter comes on day 21.

Willow is the first unlock able character for Don't Starve that is gained through 160 experience points. She is a girl that suffers from pyromania. She has a lighter that has infinite gas which is useful for lighting things on fire or providing light from the dark. The lighter is basically a weaker version of the torch. She also is immune to fire which can be very helpful considering she has a lighter on her at all times. She has 150 for both health and hunger along with 120 for sanity. Her biggest down fall is that when she has less than 60 sanity she'll light a small fire on her feet which can set ablaze all things around her such as resources and important items. She has the ability to set fire to items in her inventory which will help her regain sanity. Its key to keep in mind that their is no cap on the amount of sanity she can gain from catching things on fire so if she's really low just set ablaze everything around her.

Don't Starve game take away

Don't starve is a very open game making it very possible to play it however you would like. It is a game that causes the player to really think because not only do you have multiple things to keep track of but multiple choices of how to use a day. It's very comparable to real life because not only do we have multiple things to do in a day but multiple things to keep track of such as actual food and money. I feel like once someone understands the basics of the game its all determined on how well they can balance real life. An unorganized train wreck would probably be trash at the game because if they can't keep priorities in real life straight than they would lack that skill in this game. The game is all about having priorities and knowing how to use resources to their full advantage because not only do you have a limited amount of time until the winter comes but also you can't waste time retrieving other resources to build relatively useless things. This game really trains a person how to be smart with resources which would hopefully translate into being better at managing money and actual time in a day.

Don't Starve 5 day guide

The first things a player should do is keep a look out for spiders and other animals and to try to avoid them until you obtain weapons and traps. The first thing a player should look for is basic materials such as twigs, seeds, flower pedals, flint, and logs. The twigs, seeds, and flower pedals can be collected without any assistance of other tools. Try to collect and fill the slots for twigs and grass which is 40 per slot. The first thing a player should attempt to build is an axe to obtain wood for a fire and a pickaxe to obtain flint. A player can create both an axe and pickaxe without further need of other tools. To create an axe or pickaxe go to the left side of the screen to the tools tab in which you'll see the options of tools and requirements. Try to keep in mind that tools have only so many uses such as the axe only having 100 uses and the pickaxe 33. The next thing a player should do is cut down trees while observing and surveying the map. It is good to learn your surroundings because that will help you survive. As you explore it will start showing up on your map so you can see the areas which you have already been. While exploring if you come across a path its good to use those because they make you run faster. One thing to keep an eye out for is an area that looks like some ruins because it will have a free spear to use which is one of the most powerful weapons in the game. Another important thing to keep in mind is where you last saw certain animals such as frogs, rabbits, and beefalo so you can build traps later for a food source.
Once you obtain 12 flower pedals craft a garland in the dress slot to the left of your screen. The garland will help you keep your sanity. By the time you have gathered close to 40 for all of the basic materials it should be close to night time. To survive the night build a fire pit in the light slot to the left of your screen. While choosing a place to built it make sure it is away from other animals and creatures. Be careful not to stray away from the lit up area or you will be attacked by random creatures of the night. While waiting for the day try to collect other materials around the fire and cook and eat berries until your stomach is full. Eating raw berries won't fill up your stomach as much and they won't fill your health at all.
Once the new day starts begin looking for gold which can be typically found around grave yards. Gold can also be found on the jagged dirt with some lines. While looking for gold try to maintain close to full slots for basic materials.

At this point around your 2nd to 4th day start looking for dry grass areas because that's where beefalo would be while at the same time keeping an eye out for gold. When it comes down to building a base its good to have a dependent food source near by making the beefalo locations keys. Once you have found a good area just outside of the dry grass with many resources and animals find a safe location away from other animals but close enough to access them in a timely manner. Once you have chosen a good location go to the list on the left side of your screen to the light tab and choose to build a fire pit. After building your fire pit pick a spot near it to build your science machine which is built by going to the list on the left side of your screen and choosing the science tab. Once your science machine is up go to the left side of your screen again to the refine tab and craft four boards and two cut stones. Pick a spot near your science machine and go back to the left side of your screen and build an alchemy engine in the science tab. Once it has been built go to the list on the left side of your screen to the survival tab and build a backpack which will give you more inventory space. Stand near your newly built alchemy engine and go to the list on the left side of your screen and build a shovel, pitchfork, and razor in the tools tab. Once they are built clear out the area around your stuff by digging up resources such as the bushes, saplings, and grass tufts. Pick three locations near your camp site and plant the bushes together, saplings together, and grass together. After doing that burn down six trees by building a touch in the fire tab. Once the 6 trees burn down collect the charcoal left behind and go to where you placed your machines and build a crock pot which can be found in the food in the list on the left side of your screen. Keep in mind that food made in the crock pot doesn't expire once it pops up to the top. Next to that build a chest which can be found in the structure tab. Around this time should he the end of the 5th day.

Don't Starve controls

The name of the game may be Don't Starve but it's more than just that, its also a don't die by random things type of game too. A key thing to remember about the game is that the map will change every new game helping it stay fresh and new instead of getting old. The game set up is pretty basic and user friendly. On the bottom you have your inventory with your materials and creations and on the left side of the page you have a list of actions and options to build things. The stuff on the left side of your screen is your guide to how to build everything and how much material you will need. On your right side of the screen you have your time of day and three other circles which is your health, sanity, and stomach. You health and stomach go to 150 while your sanity goes to 200. Your stomach will go down the fastest so try to keep food on you at all times. It is important to keep in mind you have only have a certain amount of time before you get hungry and you only have a certain amount of health. You have only a certain amount of time before you are forced into nighttime in which if you don't have a fire you'll die by random creatures.
